About Starmancer:
Living World:
A tragedy on Earth forced humanity to the stars. You awake in a damaged Ark and find yourself in a strange solar system populated with other factions that have formed alliances, colonized worlds, and developed new technologies.

Our vision for Starmancer is placing you in the middle of a real world, where your actions impact the universe, and where your station will have its own story. Trade with other factions, perform missions, and repel invaders. Your playthrough will create a unique story to you, and you alone.

Design Stations:
You find yourself in a strange Solar System with no choice but to gather resources from the nearby asteroids and repair what’s left of your station. Scavenge, trade, or strip mine unclaimed planets to restore your colony.

Make the station your own. Paint every wall. Change the tiling in every room. Place rugs, paintings, posters, windows, and curtains. Design a sterile space station, run-down space port, or fancy resort. Force the low-class colonists to live in the dirty depths of the station, and create a utopia for the high class residents.

Manage Colonists:
Once the station is repaired you’ll need food, water, and oxygen for your colonists. Assign them jobs to perform around the colony, set their working hours, and send them out on missions.

Just be careful where they go. Colonists can contract diseases, smuggle xeno-eggs, and break bones. You wouldn’t want to replace your humans with a fleet of autonomous robots–would you?

Wait, is it just me, or is the Starmancer core basically Glados?

Why couldn't they call it "Astromancer"?

This game just reminds me of Habbohotel game everyone played when we were kids.

Yay! A space scifi builder with cool generators, energy cores, water purifiers and KoS plays around with curtains and rugs 🙂 JK, looking forward for this game

I really hate indie devs that try to nudge themselves into the genre of Dwarf Fortress yet fall far, far short as Rimworld did. You're not Toady, you don't have the effort and it shows. At least this game looks better than Rimworld. Mentioning Oxygen Not Included is a sure fire way to get me to click back, that is yet another broken, unbalanced game that punishes you for playing any way except one.

I guess the ICONS showing above the fish farms are, from top to bottom :
– WATER [output / wastes]
– WATER [input]
– ELECTRICITY

Guess the demo won't really manage all that yet.
Another SpacebaseDF-9 kinda game ; hope this one will eventually be successful ! It can be pretty hard for developers to handle such project, especially if it is their first colony-simulation kinda game. If the code is clumsy, it'll be a pain to maintain and update painlessly.

Will keep my eye on it for sure though ; it indeed "looks" pretty cool !
Thanks for the presentation Katherine

I was burned with Spacebase DF-9…..so I'll gladly wait until I see more from the developers, no offense to them, but I just hate the idea of throwing money at people, and them get gloomy eye at money and lose all interest in the project.

It does look nice though.

One button you didn't try out was the top one in the rightmost column, labeled palette 0. When painting the walls, if you had tried different palletes, you probably would be able to choose the paint colors.

Thanks for showing off the demo! I’ve yet to have a chance to check it out. This game is exactly the type that’s right up my alley, so I’m extra glad now that I’ve thrown down all my savings towards the Kickstarter.
